Madam, - The Artane Boys Band has been part and parcel of Croke Park for many years. Watching that band marching out from under the Hogan Stand and playing stirring airs before matches and during the intervals was always most inspiring.
Now, unfortunately, the band is slowly but surely being sidelined while various sideshows take place. It surely is a shame to see approximately 60 first-class musicians standing idly by for long periods.
All Ireland Final days do not need jazzing up. The match and the Artane Boys Band are sufficient. - Yours, etc.,
