Sir, - In the event of John Hume not going forward for the office of President I would love to see someone of the calibre of ex-Senator Surgeon John Robb being nominated. This distinguished man has already contributed much to the whole island of Ireland, and has proved himself to be courageous, compassionate, and committed to a policy of justice and fair play for all.

His dignity and integrity could only consolidate the distinction and prestige which President Robinson gained for the Presidency during her incumbency.
