Madam, - That Amhrán na bhFiann may not be representative of all members of the Irish rugby squad is a given. That a well-intentioned bid for inclusiveness spawned the beast that is Ireland's Call is understood. That Phil Coulter has written great songs is beyond question.
With apologies to Charles Bourke (September 18th), that Ireland's Call is not one of them is obvious. That it is cringe-worthy is an understatement. That it should be replaced by Danny Boy, There is an Isle, Teenage Kicks, The Hucklebuck, What's Another Year? - need I go on? is imperative.- Yours, etc.,

Madam, - Like Charles Bourke, I am reduced to tears at the very sound of Ireland's Call. However, my tears have more to do with embarrassment than pride. My own suggestion would be the aptly called Song For Ireland.- Yours, etc.,
