Madam, – Des O’Meara (March 30th) asserted that judges are not infallible and therefore not above criticism. I agree. Is there not, however, a difference, a world of difference between criticism and abuse? The principal points of Denis O’Brien’s and Michael Lowry’s response to the tribunal’s report are: 1. that Justice Moriarty predetermined the outcome and 2. that Justice Moriarty was supported and defended by the judiciary. Are these suggestions valid criticism or abuse? I suggest the latter. – Yours, etc,
