Madam, – The announcement by the ESB last week that it is creating thousands of new jobs by investing in green technology is the first bit of sensible thinking I have heard since the beginning of the financial crisis.
In a similar vein, why don’t we create a new fleet of environmentally friendly “Green Taxis”, designed and manufactured in Ireland. This would serve a number of purposes:
1. It would create employment.
2. It would be good for the environment.

By creating a fleet of Irish “Green Taxis” we would be reinforcing the positive “green” associations Ireland has and positioning ourselves as an innovative and forward-thinking nation. – Yours, etc,
