A chara, – Having made the correct and courageous decision to rescind the award of Freedom of the City of Dublin to Aung San Suu Kyi, Dublin city councillors should now consider re-instating Bob Geldof to the roll of honorary freedom.
His principled stance in returning his scroll served to highlight the plight of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Before voting on accepting the return of his award, the council should have offered him the chance to remain on the roll once the decision had been taken to remove Suu Kyi from it. – Is mise,
