An opinion article in yesterday’s edition, concerning the legacy of the Royal Irish Constabulary, incorrectly stated that the RIC was involved in the murder in 1920 of Cork’s lord mayor Terence MacSwiney. The mayor in question was Tomás MacCurtain.

In an article in yesterday’s edition, concerning Greenstar waste management group, the heading, first paragraph and picture caption stated that €83.2 million in loans are owed by the company’s parent group NTR. In fact, the loans were provided by the banks directly to Greenstar. NTR has no liability for the loans.

An article in yesterday’s edition on the Panama Canal said that President Carterpassed it on to the Panamanian government in 1999. President Carter agreed the transfer of ownership in 1978 but the process of transferring control took until 1999.
