The Minister for Education and Science, Dr Woods, has visited local schools and discussed education issues with the US Secretary of Education, Mr Richard Riley, during a two-day visit to Washington.
Among the issues discussed were Civic Link - a cross-community initiative that links schools in Northern Ireland and the Republic - and Virtual Schools Exchange Project, which involves schools in the US, Northern Ireland and the Republic.
