Woman dies in Tipperary collision

A woman in her late 40s has died following a collision between a car and a tractor in Co Tipperary this afternoon.

The incident happened at Knocklofty, on the Clonmel to Ardfinnan Road shortly after 12.30pm.

The woman, who was alone in the car, died at the scene. Her body was later removed to South Tipperary General Hospital.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured in the collision.

Gardaí have closed the road pending a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
