Woman dies after falling into Grand Canal in Offaly

Gardaí in Co Offaly are investigating the death of a woman who was taken from the Grand Canal yesterday afternoon. The woman, who has not yet been named, was out walking with her husband when she fell into the canal near the village of Rahan shortly after midday. Emergency services were called and the woman’s body was removed from the canal and taken to the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
