A woman has died of her injuries eight days after being rammed by a man trying to drive his car into an open-topped bus carrying Queen Beatrix and other members of the Dutch royal family, authorities said today.

The woman is the seventh innocent victim of the April 30th attack close to the Het Loo palace in the city of Apeldoorn. The driver of the car also died.

Apeldoorn municipality spokesman Toon Schuiling said today that the 46-year-old woman died in hospital last night.

Her death came as a memorial service was being held for victims of the incident.

Police said the car driver admitted attempting to attack the popular monarch shortly after his car rammed a stone monument just metres (yards) from the royal bus. He did not give a motive.
