Gardaí in Cork are investigating a two-car collision in which a 45-year-old woman was killed.
The collision took place at Lowertown, Skull, at about 3.30pm today. The victim was the driver of one of the cars. The driver of the other car was taken taken to Bantry Hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old woman knocked down in a hit-and-run incident in Dublin on November 26th has also died today.
Gardaí in Rathmines are continuing to investigate the collision which has claimed the life of Lily Hastingsbass from Rathgar Court, Rathgar.
She was hit by a car on Sunday November 26th at 10.55pm on Rathgar Road. Gardaí again appealed for information about the accident.
A statement from the Garda press office said the victim was struck by a small, dark blue, two-door hatchback-type car as she crossed the road near the Grovesnor Road garage. The car failed to stop.
