Gardai in Finglas are appealing for witnesses to a road accident in which a care worker and a teenage boy in his care were killed.

Mr Liam Coleman (36) and Dean Ring (15) died when the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with another car at Ward's Cross on the North Road near Finglas. The accident happened at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night. The second car appears to have been exiting from a side road when it hit Mr Coleman's car. His car mounted the grass bank and hit a wall.

The two victims were taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown. Mr Coleman was dead on arrival, while Dean Ring died shortly afterwards. Mr Coleman was a father of three from the Green Park area of Clondalkin. He had been working in Finglas for several years.
