A Co Wexford priest appeared in Wexford District Court yesterday on 10 charges of sexually abusing two teenage males in the 1970s. He was remanded on continuing bail until March 6th. The court heard that the book of evidence has just been served in the case.

The 58 year old priest appeared in court wearing casual clothes and used a walking stick. He was accompanied by another priest.

He allegedly committed seven acts of gross indecency, an act of attempted buggery and two indecent assaults on two teenage males over a four year period on dates unknown between 1975 and 1979.

All the offences are alleged to have taken place at a college in Wexford, with the exception of one charge of gross indecency, which is alleged to have taken place in St Jude's guest house in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
