Leinster
Continued delays are likely as the existing single lane approaching Firhouse on the M50 is to be extended further north closer to the Ballymount Interchange.
Kellystown Road in Rath farnham will be closed over the next three months to facilitate the construction of the new motorway bridge, part of the Southern Cross Motorway. The alternative route is along Ticknock road and Harold's Grange Road.
Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham will be closed at the interface with the proposed route on the new motorway. Edmonstown Road and Mount Venus Road should be used instead.
Ducting work will cause delays outside peak times in Northumberland Road, Leeson Street Upper, Morehampton Road, Haddington Road, Stillorgan Road and Nutley Lane. Roadworks are likely to cause serious delays during the morning peak on Charlemont Street for the next three weeks. Work on Quality Bus Corridors continues on Leeson Street and between the Finglas Road from Hart's Corner to Finglas between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Bord Gais will be carrying out work on Glendalough Road from Botanic Avenue to Hollybank Road until April 29th.
On the southside of the city there is major cabling work taking place on Blackrock Main Street, the Blackrock bypass and from Blackrock to Baker's Corner. In Westmeath resurfacing work continues on the N4 east of Rathowen village with temporary lights in operation. In Kilcullen, Co Kildare construction of new sewerage will cause serious delays on Main Street. Roadworks are in place on the N76 between Kilkenny and Callan at Shellumsrath. Temporary lights are in operation and delays are likely to occur from 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Munster
Due to building work at the NUI in Galway the entrance on Newcastle Road has been closed, with all traffic now entering via University Road. There are roadworks on the coast road from Galway to Oranmore for the next few months.
In Limerick, there is no through road from Athlunkard Street to Baal's Bridge via Sir Harry's Mall. Access to the mall is limited to business and residential traffic.
Connacht/Ulster
A number of roadworks in place in the Donegal area are likely to cause delays this weekend. A one-way system and diversions are in operation on Main Street in Stranorlar while roadworks on the Sligo side of Donegal town will remain until June. Extreme caution is urged on the N15 just north of the town where there are temporary traffic lights in operation due to work being carried out on the Donegal bypass. In Co Down, bridge reconstruction work is taking place on the Ballyhinch Road in Lisburn under the motorway bridge.

Road Deaths
Road accidents claimed three lives this week, bringing the total number of road deaths for this month to 23. In all, 121 people have been killed in road accidents to date this year.
