The Birmingham midfielder missed the 3-0 Premiership defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday because of tendinitis.

Wales manager Mark Hughes had been hopeful the midfielder would recover in time for the Millennium Stadium clash.

Elsewhere, Scotland's preparations for their must-win game with Lithuania have been boosted by the return to training of captain Barry Ferguson.

The Blackburn midfielder had been kept in quarantine earlier in the week because of illness.

Colin Cameron (leg) and Steven Pressley (bug) missed training this morning but should be available for Saturday's game.
