The US military has confirmed the deaths of two American soldiers in southern Iraq.
In a statement, released today, the military said the deaths occurred yesterday. No further details about how they died were released.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the US department of defense.
The death raises to at least 4,450 the number of US military personnel who have died in Iraq since the war began in March 2003.
