Luanda - Armed men identified as members of Angola's UNITA rebel movement killed some 50 people, including children, at a village market south of Huambo on Tuesday, a newspaper said yesterday.

The pro-government Jornal de Angola said rebels of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola attacked hawkers and customers at the market. The bodies of several children were later found in a river near the market, the paper said.
