United Nations climate change negotiators agreed today to present a draft treaty to stem global warming in June, the latest they could legally produce such a text.
The decision was announced in a statement given to press in Poznan, Poland, the site for the latest round of negotiations.
Delegates at the conference are considering ways to provide clean-energy technology and funds for developing countries to help trim production of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas blamed for warming up the planet.
A final round of negotiations is scheduled for next December in Copenhagen.
