Two people have died in seperate road crashes this afternoon.
A woman in her 40s died when her car crashed on the Woodford to Portumna Road at Drumnamuckla, Co. Galway. The incident happened at 3.45pm.
The woman, who was the sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was taken to Portinuncula Hospital.
The road is closed for a technical examination and diversions are place.
A man in his 70s died when the car he was driving was in collision with a truck on the N21 between Castleisland and Abbeyfeale, near Healeys Bridge in Co Kerry at 2.45pm. The man was the sole occupant of the car. The driver of the truck received minor injuries and was taken to Tralee General Hospital.
The road at the scene remains closed, but is expected to re-open in the next hour.
