Two people have died following separate road traffic collisions in Co Antrim and Co Cavan.
Police in Co Antrim are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a collision between a car and a lorry yesterday.
The crash happened when the car in which the man and woman - both in their 70s - were travelling collided with a flat-bed lorry on Main Street, Ballynure around 3pm.
The woman remains in a critical condition in hospital.
PSNI later named the man as Norman Barber (79).
In Co Cavan a woman (35) died in hospital last night as a result of injuries sustained in a collision between a car and a van at 8.15am at Kilduff, Belturbet on Wednesday.
The female car driver, who was the only occupant, was taken to Cavan General Hospital but died last night.
The male driver and two male passengers of the van suffered minor injuries.
