Two charged over Co Antrim euro forgery

A man and a woman have been charged following the seizure of up to €300,000 of counterfeit bank notes in Northern Ireland.

A 41-year-old Newtownabbey man will appear in court tomorrow charged with the manufacture of counterfeit currency, the possession of counterfeit currency and the possession of items for use in counterfeiting.

A 36-year-old woman, also from Newtownabbey, has been charged with money laundering. She has been released on bail and will appear in court at a later date.

Both were arrested yesterday after officers from the PSNI serious crimes division discovered what they described as a "major counterfeit currency operation" at a house in the Co Antrim town.
