A new video aimed at encouraging anti-racism practices in community groups was launched today by Traveller rights organisation Pavee Point.

RTÉ newsreader Ms Sharon Ní Bheoláin launched the 15-minute video, entitled Communities Challenging Racism- Creating an Anti-Racist Community Organisation.

The video features real-life situations in community groups and gives topics for discussion, such as "Who has power?  What do we mean by community?  Do communities stay the same or change over time?"

"Community organisations are a great resource for people, they provide a focus for people and enable people to achieve their own goals.  And community groups are well placed to lead the way in working against racism and discrimination," Ms Ní Bheoláin said.
