Tirana - Three Egyptian Islamists, extradited from Albania weeks before twin bomb attacks on US embassies in Africa, were suspects in last year's Luxor tourist massacre, an interior ministry source said yesterday. The three were arrested by the Albanian secret service, Shik, in an operation that appeared to have the assistance of the CIA, the source said.
Speculation that the embassy bombings may have been staged to avenge the expulsions was prompted by a warning from Egypt's banned militant group, Jihad, last week.
