TAIPEI - Taiwan's Foreign Minister, Mr John Chang, yesterday said his government had launched a new campaign to gain a seat at the UN despite being defeated on four previous attempts by opposition from Beijing.
"As a sovereign state, there is no reason for us to give up and there is no reason not to pursue the due international status for the 21 million people" in Taiwan, he told reporters. - (AFP)
