A fast-food takeaway supervisor who refused to allow an environmental health officer to inspect a premises was fined £300 yesterday for obstruction.

Karen McEvoy, of Abrakebabra, Baggot Street, Dublin, claimed she had refused to allow officer Ms Lorraine Lynch behind the counter on the instructions of her employer, who was on holiday in Nigeria.
