Supermarket co-op Londis today reported a 17 per cent increase in group operating profits in 2001 to €6.37 million. As a result members’ rebates increased to 6.06 million for the year.
Sales rose 25 per cent to €227 million at the group’s 215 Irish stores.
Commenting on the results Mr Ronnie Neville chief financial officer at Londis said 2001 had been a "very successful" year for the group and trading in 2002 had started very well.
