COLOMBO - A Tamil Tiger suicide bomber yesterday assassinated Sri Lanka's top field commander of the elite Special Task Force commando unit, officials said. Police Senior Supt Upali Sahabandu was killed instantly when a motor-cyclist strapped with explosives blew himself up himself against the officer's jeep in the eastern town of Karaitivu.
