A 23-year-old student Garda was arrested at Templemore Garda College in Co Tipperary last night after four guns were found in his room.
The man, who is believed to be from Co Galway, was brought to the Garda station in Templemore for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He was later released without charge. An investigation is under way.
