London - The jury in the trial of Dr Harold Shipman heard yesterday how the doctor wept when he spoke to a woman patient about one of his alleged victims.

Ms Lesley Pulford said that Dr Shipman had told her just before his arrest for the murder of wealthy widow Ms Kathleen Grundy and forging her £386,000 will: "If I could bring her back and sit her in that chair I would say `Look at all the trouble you've caused'. "

Ms Pulford said that the doctor had told her in a conversation at his surgery in September last year that he and his staff had already decided what they would do with the money from Ms Grundy's will, which the Crown alleges was a crude forgery.
