A Donegal man who has become suicidal while in custody awaiting sentence for attempted rape is to have his case finalised on June 13th next by the Central Criminal Court.

Mr Justice Kinlen said he was told of the 38 year old man's mental state last week. Defence counsel Mr Gregory Murphy SC agreed his client was very anxious to have the case dealt with.

On January 15th the defendant pleaded guilty to attempted rape and aggravated sexual assault on a woman then aged 19 in Donegal on September 18th, 1994.
