Seven people have been killed and eight injured after a train smashed into a minibus at a level crossing in Turkey.
The accident happened soon after midnight near the city of Isparta.
The minibus, carrying 15 people, entered the crossing, disregarding traffic signals indicating an oncoming train, a local police official claimed.
The train, an express from Isparta to the Aegean port city of Izmir, slammed into the minibus, killing seven of its passengers, the official said.
The other eight minibus passengers, some of them seriously injured, have been taken to hospital in Isparta.
Isparta is some 188 miles southwest of the capital Ankara.
The train conductor was taken into police custody for questioning. There were no reports of injuries among the train's passengers.
