A SHIP that docked at Dundalk Port nine months ago with a hungry and unpaid crew on board began the first part of its journey as a ship carrying humanitarian aid yesterday.

The MV Linda, renamed The Rachel Corrie, was arrested by the International Transport Workers Federation which represented the Ukrainian crew and it was sold at auction last month to raise funds to pay their outstanding wages.

It was bought for €70,000 by the Friends of Gaza and its next journey will carry 900 tonnes of medical aid and building and educational supplies to Gaza.
