Ferrari's Michael Schumacher ran into problems on his second day of testing at Mugello today when his F2001 car suffered engine trouble.

The world champion had to coast into the pits after his installation lap and an engine change cost him three hours of running time.

Schumacher, who was joined by Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen, posted a quickest lap time of one minute 23.780 seconds from the 45 laps he covered.

"I am very happy with what we did today," Schumacher said. "Despite the one stoppage, the results of the work we did were satisfying."
