UCC:A keen sportsman who drowned while trying to save two lives was remembered at a UCC ceremony last night at which 80 students were awarded sports scholarships.
Jonathan Herlihy (23) died in west Cork in 2006 along with businessman Peter O’Keeffe while they were trying to save a couple in difficulties in the sea. Two scholarships were awarded in memory of Herlihy, who played soccer for UCC.
