Gardai investigating the murder of an 81-year-old widow, Mrs Nancy Nolan, at her home on the Galway-Roscommon border last week are to set up road checkpoints near her home in Ballaghlea today, in order to seek information from motorists.
Mrs Nolan, a retired national schoolteacher and mother of six, was found dead inside the front door of her home in Ballaghlea, near Ballygar, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. A spokesman for the investigation team has denied reports that detectives have a suspect for the crime.
