Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale today defiantly stated David O'Leary is committed to the Elland Road cause - so dismissing speculation linking the Irishman with a move to Manchester United at the end of the season.

Reports last week seemed to suggest O'Leary would be free to move to Old Trafford should United come calling once Sir Alex Ferguson relinquishes the reins next summer.

But Ridsdale has now moved to clear up any confusion, fervently claiming the 43-year-old Irishman is not going anywhere due to his determination to finish a job he started almost three years ago.

"In case a few people are concerned, I will re-iterate, David O'Leary is going nowhere.

"He has given me complete commitment that he and I are in this together and we are going to bring trophies to Elland Road as soon as possible.

"As far as I'm concerned, I don't care who is the next manager of Manchester United.

"I just care about who is the best man for the Leeds United job - and we've got him!" - PA
