A party of 19 refugees, including nine from the Congo and two each from Romania, Iraq and Muldovia, arrived in Clifden, Co Galway, just before Christmas. They were welcomed by the Rev Conal Eustace, CC, Clifden, and the Rev Anthony Previte, Archdeacon of Christ Church, Church of Ireland, Clifden. The refugees, who include a doctor, an engineer and two accountants, are being housed in a hostel in the town which is owned by Clifden archaeologist Mr Michael Gibbons and his wife, Ms Patricia Dunford.
