A 33-year-old man has been jailed for two years by Judge Kevin Haugh for robbing a fast-food shop where his sister worked. Noel Kearney from Ballygall Parade, Finglas, jumped the counter at Burger Express on April 5th and took £140 from the till, Garda Padraig Cleary told Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Garda Cleary said the woman owner recognised Kearney as his hood revealed part of his face. She knew him quite well.
Kearney was arrested three days later after he came back to the same burger shop with a group of five friends and gardai were called.
He had 25 previous convictions between 1989 and 1996, including possession of firearms, misuse of drugs, robbery and assaulting gardai.
