Princess Anne paid a one-day visit to Northern Ireland yesterday. It was her 16th visit to the North and the first this year by a member of the British royal family.
During her half-day stay, she met milkmen at the Northern Ireland Dairy council who presented her with a £125,000 cheque which they had raised for the Save the Children Fund, of which she is patron. She also opened two residential units for the deaf-blind at a centre outside Carrickfergus, Co Antrim. She then left for the British army barracks in Lisburn, Co Antrim.
