Manning praises Turner cartoon

THE Irish Times cartoonist, Martyn Turner was singled out for praise by the Government leader in the House, Mr Maurice Manning. Mr Turner's cartoon in yesterday's edition of the newspaper probably portrayed the reality of the Northern situation more than any political speeches could have done, Mr Manning said.

He was responding to support by members for yesterdays newspaper article by the SDLP leader, Mr John Hume, about his party's attitude to Sinn Fein.
