WASHINGTON - Two US military planes crashed in separate incidents yesterday. The pilot of one was still missing early this morning, officials said.

A Marine F/A-18 fighter attack plane, on a routine air training exercise, crashed in the Atlantic near Wallops Island off the Virginia coast. There was no indication early this morning of what had happened to the pilot. In eastern Maryland, an Air National Guard A 10 Thunderbolt tankbuster plane crashed and the pilot was taken to hospital.
