Gardai in Cork are preparing photofit pictures of the two assailants who attacked and injured an 84 year old woman early last Tuesday morning.
Yesterday, Ms Rose Hyland of Dublin Street, Blackpool, was recovering at a rest home in the city from her injuries. Ms Hyland was in bed when her attackers broke into her home and dragged her across the bed room floor. Her knees and hands were badly grazed. She managed to alert a neighbour in the adjoining house by banging on the wall, and she was later treated at Cork University Hospital before being discharged to the rest home.
Since the attack, gardai have been conducting an intensive investigation, but Ms Hyland, who was described as "very shocked and traumatised" after her ordeal, was unable to give a clear description of the two men. It is understood she will be interviewed again at the weekend, by which time the photofits will be available.
