The Full Monty won the best comedy prize at the South Bank Show Awards in London yesterday. Actors Hugo Speer and William Snape (11), who played Robert Carlyle's son in the film, collected the award from actress Thora Hird.
A German businessman has patented the term "Lady Di" and hopes to profit from Prin- cess Diana's nickname to sell a line of perfumes, champagne, beauty products and fashion accessories.
Andre Engelhardt acquired a provisional patent for Germany. He hopes for a European-wide patent, but says he will not market goods in Britain. "People are still too sensitive there," he said.

Jack Lord has died in Honolulu. He was aged 77.
Before starring as Steve McGarrett in the detective drama Hawaii Five-O, Lord acted in movies from 1949 to 1968. They included The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell, God's Little Acre, and the James Bond film, Dr No. Hawaii Five-O made him a star and lasted 12 years. Lord starred in 284 episodes before he retired in 1980.
