Pedestrian injured after being hit by Luas

A pedestrian was to hospital this afternoon after being struck by a Luas at the junction of Cuffe St and Harcourt St shortly after 2pm.

A 60-year-old man is believed to have stepped out in front of the Green Line tram as it entered Harcourt Street.

He was rushed to St James’s Hospital, where his injuries were said to be minor.

A spokesman for Luas operator Veolia said that passengers experienced delays as a result of the incident.

In addition, the roads close to St Stephen’s Green were closed to traffic for a short period, causing tailbacks on Kevin Street and around Stephen's Green.
