Ms Elizabeth Birdthistle (27), from Limerick, has been appointed full time national youth officer by the Progressive Democrats. She is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin.
Ms Birdthistle is completing the party's youth policy document to be published in the autumn. She is also to run a recruitment drive to increase party membership.
