Stockholm - More than 120 nations, including the US, will formally agree a pact tomorrow to outlaw or minimise use of a "dirty dozen" toxic chemicals blamed for causing fatal diseases and birth defects among humans and animals.

The chemicals, used in pesticides to kill termites, in fire retardants in homes and in paints or plastics, have since been found to trigger disastrous side-effects including cancers.
