One man killed in Dublin shooting

 

One man has died and another is being treated in hospital for serious injuries following a shooting in Dublin this evening.

Gardaí were called to the scene of a reported shooting in Summerhill, Dublin at about 8.40pm. They found two men in a vehicle at the scene with serious injuries.

The men, who are said to be local, were taken by ambulance to St James's and the Mater hospital.

One man was confirmed dead shortly after 9pm, and the other is said to be seriously injured.

It is believed that the attacker may have been in the vehicle, a black Volvo with UK registration plates, with the victims.

The scene has been sealed off and an investigation is underway.
