Unidentified gunmen have shot dead nine people and wounded more than 10 others in an attack on a Shi'ite mosque in Rawalpindi, near Pakistan's capital Islamabad.
"We have placed nine bodies in the hospital morgue and wounded are pouring in", a doctor at Holy Family Hospital said.
A witness said an unknown number of gunmen opened fire on between 30 and 40 worshippers during evening prayers in the Shah-i-Najf mosque.
"It was a sudden firing and many of us immediately lay on the floor", Anjum Abbass, who was wounded in the gun attack, said. The wounded included two teenaged boys.
