A Nigerian man has been arrested for chopping off his wife's leg after accusing her of carelessly exposing her body during a post-natal medical examination.
Police today said Mr Adamu Hussaini (52) was arrested last week in northern Bauchi State and is to appear in court soon for the offence.

State police commissioner Mr Mohammed Bate said Mr Hussaini, a professional butcher, accused his wife Amina of exposing her body carelessly to a male doctor who had examined her during post-natal treatment.
"The woman was being examined two weeks after she delivered twins," Mr Bate said. He said Mr Hussaini was not happy with the way his wife of over 27 years undressed before the doctor.
"On getting home, Hussaini locked up Amina and cut off her right leg," he said. The woman's groans attracted her neighbours who rushed her to the hospital. Mr Bate said the woman's condition was stable.
The news comes as campaigners continue to lobby on behalf of a Nigerian woman who is to be stoned to death after being convicted of adultery. Ms Amina Lawal (30) was sentenced last week by and Islamic court to be buried up to her neck and stoned to death in accordance to Sharia law.
